Adding Data

How to Add Data to ConstantGraph

With ConstantGraph, you can aggregate and visualize your data via a set of configurable graphs and dashboards. Once you have  signed-up  and  logged into  ConstantGraph go to the  account page  and find the Locations, Keys and Tokens section and add click Add new location.

To import data into ConstantGraph, you then have several options:

  1. SmartThings : If you use the Samsung SmartThings platform, you can use the SmartThings integration to automatically send data from your SmartThings system to ConstantGraph.
  2. Vera Plug-in : If you use the Vera home automation platform, you can install the ConstantGraph Plug-in to automatically send data from your Vera system to ConstantGraph.
  3. Hubitat Plug-in : If you use the Hubitat platform, you can install the ConstantGraph app to send data to ConstantGraph.
  4. Data API : You can use the ConstantGraph API to send data directly from your home automation system to ConstantGraph. This requires some technical knowledge and programming skills.
  5. Excel : If you want to import historical data (rather than live data) we have created a basic Excel spreadsheet that will upload historical data into your account (if you are on the Historical Analysis subscription)

Once your data is in ConstantGraph, you can use the powerful disaggregation feature to separate data from a single Home Energy Monitor into the energy usage of individual devices in your home. This allows you to identify high energy-consuming devices and make cost savings through energy efficiency.

At a high level there are Controllers in ConstantGraph (these map to locations in SmartThings). Under that are devices (which are also called devices in SmartThings) - however, multipart devices (not so common) become separate devices in ConstantGraph. Under devices are channels (which map to capabilities in SmartThings).
